The Truth about the average Cosmetic Product

The shelves of your average super market are stacked with thousands of cosmetic products. What most men and women do not realize is that these beauty and grooming products are created from over five thousand chemicals – many of which are not approved by regulatory authorities for consumption. Eating a product may be different to applying a product, but chemicals are toxins that are absorbed by the body which, over time, can be extremely harmful.  The skin is the body's largest organ, and accounts for most of the body's absorption of everyday toxins. These toxins include the products we rub on our skin on a daily basis. In many cases, over sixty percent of the chemicals in lotions, creams, hair care products and makeup will be absorbed through the skin and into the bloodstream. These toxins can build up in the organs, especially in the liver, and stay in the body for decades. These toxins can therefore target and damage organs throughout your body. Hence, it is imperative to scrutinize ingredients when selecting body care products just as you would when choosing your food.

With the sheer number of grooming products being used by consumers all over the world, it is no surprise that heavy price competition between companies is partially responsible for increasingly adding harmful and cheaper chemical substances to products- which may have good results – but are slowly but surely harming your body.

Sometimes consumers can avoid certain chemicals by reading labels on containers, but often companies disguise the true nature of ingredients or fail to include them at all.
