Fall Asleep in just 60 Seconds

There’s nothing more important for healthy, gorgeous skin and hair than getting a solid 8 hours of sleep each night. When we are asleep, our cells rebuild and repair themselves and if you don't sleep, this function is impaired. Harvard trained practitioner Dr. Andrew Weil has developed a sleeping technique that can induce sleep in 60 seconds and for those individuals who miss out on the zzzs because they can’t fall asleep, it can be a life saver. His other studies revolve around how meditation and breathing can combat stress and unhealthy sleeping habits and eventually overall ill health.

It involves regulating your breathing to various counts of 4, 7 and 8. It lets oxygen better fill the lungs, calms the mind and relaxes muscles.

HERE’S HOW:

You breathe in through your nose for four seconds, hold it for seven seconds, and exhale through your mouth for eight seconds. Doing this slows down your heart rate and it also releases chemicals in your brain that soothe you.

It’s excellent for falling asleep, meditating and helping an individual to feel relaxed with a regulated heart beat. It is also effective for counteracting stress when your heart rate elevates and your body tenses up. It does so by restricting the effects of adrenaline on the body and forcefully slows down the heart rate.

Try it tonight and tell us in a comment on our Facebook post about your experience.
