Our Quest for the Finest Ingredients: North Pakistan

Our Quest for the Finest Ingredients: North Pakistan

Here at Conatural, it is our aim to seek, discover and utilise the best possible ingredients for your skin.

Most of our natural and organic products contain pure, wild crafted and organic ingredients sourced locally from various parts of Pakistan.

Conatural CEO, Myra Qureshi Jahangir, devotes much of her time travelling, looking out for the purest of raw materials, and educating communities on utilising natural resources. Her recent travels to beautiful Gilgit-Baltistan proved fruitful on multiple levels.

Some of the world's highest mountains are in scenic, awe-inspiring Gilgit-Balistan. Many people from around the world visit to see the three highest mountain ranges - the Karakoram, the Himalayas, and the Hindu Kush, as well as the largest glaciers in the world.

Gilgit-Baltistan is considered a 'mountain paradise' because of its striking yet serene mountainous landscapes and magnificently wild rivers. It's a popular destination for mountaineers, trekkers, and tourists.

The valley is lush with pear, apricot and cherry blossom trees which bloom with tremendous colour and beauty at the start of the spring season.

A lesser-known fact: the region is a natural resource for pure, wild rosehip and sea buckthorn.

Northern Pakistan is home to many other fruits, flowers and shrubs. The purpose of Myra's trip was to source Nature’s wonders in a way that benefits communities.

We at Conatural strongly believe in women's empowerment starting at the community level and beyond. The company takes the initiative to help women living in these areas to earn a livelihood. Conatural is working to set up local communities, run by local women, which harvest wild crafted, widespread and also lesser known ingredients.

Pakistan’s northern areas are a vista of beauty, serenity and wilderness. Its terrains are blessed by some of Nature's loveliest fruits, flowers and shrubs.

An in-depth knowledge and intelligent utilisation of the region's natural resources empowers communities, uplifts local economy, and reduces the need to import products.

The lessons learned are ongoing. Think globally, act locally; educate and empower; and always respect the environment to create a better now and a safer tomorrow.
